Through a series of inadvertent e-mails and an ambiguous phone conversation, the adviser to The Stentor learned two weeks ago of her dismissal for "economic" reasons.
Fern Schumer Chapman, who has served as the newspaper's adviser for the last six years, found out that her contract for 2009-2010 would not be renewed after a professor e-mailed her and her students to ask about the responsibilities of the job after he was "invited" to become the new faculty adviser.

Director of the Center for Chicago Programs, Associate Dean of the Faculty and Composer in Residence, and member of the Music Department faculty, Rami Levin, is leaving the College after the upcoming year. She plans to move to Brazil with her husband in the summer of 2010.
Head football coach resigns from College Head Football Coach Brent Becker recently resigned for personal reasons. The current defensive coordinator, Jim Catanzaro, will become head coach for the upcoming football season, according to Athletic Director Jackie Slaats.
