In August 2008, the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity will join Delta Chi as one of two recognized fraternities on the Lake Forest College campus. Lambda Chi Alpha was drawn to the College for their similar views of honorable characteristics in students. "Lake Forest is a campus we are excited to be coming to," said Jarod Holt, Associate Director of Chapter Services and Expansion Team Lead, "because the College and Lambda Chi Alpha share many values and similar hopes for the undergraduate experience.

Construction crews are working to repair a heating pipe outside of Dixon Research Center following a steam leak last week. They have torn up asphalt and closed down the driveway behind Dixon. "The original source of heat for virtually all College buildings is from a boiler located in Facilities Management," said FacMan Director David Siebert.

Last Thursday, first year student Kaung San spoke to Meyer Auditorium about the current turmoil in his home country, Burma. During the lecture, hosted by Students Educating Students, Kaung described the repressive practices of the Burmese government, offering insights into the country's history and development.

The man who breaks into a publishing company's factory to write "books suck" with his own feces all over the wall is elected president-the favorite of the people. This was the world author Eckhard Gerdes presented to his audience Tuesday night in the Meyer Auditorium.

Career Services advisor Ellen Bartkowiak will be leaving Lake Forest College to pursue a similar position at University of Wisconsin - Madison at the end of November. Her replacement will be hired by Spring Semester. "I actually found the position through a search process and networking session, like those methods we teach at Career Services," she said, "it's a great success story.
